Background: Current study was performed to compare the short-term surgical outcome of laparoscopic (TAPP) and open inguinal hernia mesh hernioplasty (Lichtenstein) in primary unilateral hernias such as time taken by patients return routine daily activities work. Methods: This is a prospective, comparative done Apollo Main Hospital, Chennai comparing outcomes between repair total 60 with 30 each arm. Results: Return Job 8 median days group 9 which significant p value 0.000. Pain score at 12th hour significantly lesser VAS 3 compared 4 0.015.
